He likes to get inside and open and close the door and window using the little finger holes I made (he figured that out right away). He often takes food and toys in there with him.
All the toys he has, and of course he prefers an oversized box.
A note from Dad. Its a little scary how much he looks like me in that very top photograph. Rachel's right, though. He loves this little house. We were eating breakfast and we hear him talking and singing to himself in there. And then kicks out the door grabs a toy and locks himself in again. I think he will either be a stunt man or a hermit when he is older. - Fred
Rachel- linked to your blog from Katie's. It's great to see picts of Spencer and to hear about his growth and development. We too have had some weight problems. David's in the 5th %tile. We got the information sheet on how to fatten your kid. I about died looking at all the things they listed. Yes, fatten him and give him athlosclerosis at the same time. Just kidding. I know it's important I was just taken back by what was listed to eat. Hope all is well with you and your family!
Hi jmn! I was also shocked by the foods on the full-fat diet. I think what worked for us was cutting out juice (it's now all whole milk and a little water to drink), peanut butter, full-fat cream cheese and yogurt. It's tough to balance a diet full of fat with teaching healthy eating habits and food choices!
Fred - I totally agree with you. It's so weird now that he's grown into is face - he so looks like you and Rachel combined. I know - that's what he is, but now he looks it! He's soooo cute. And I love the house - as he gets older you can paint it with him! WooHoo.
When my brother was a kid, he was convinced he wanted to live in a tree, by himself, on the side of the road. Luckily, he grew out of that and is a perfectly well-adjusted person today. And we played with lots of cardboard boxes in our day.
